Gun Owner Defense Stories
While no one ever wants to have to draw their weapon and even more so kill another person average citizens defend themselves, and others, on a daily basis. We do not post these stories to glorify them, far from it. Taking another humans life is a horrible thing that no one wants to experience. But since these type of stories are often overlooked by main stream media and anti-gun groups constantly tell us guns don't save lives we feel the need to keep the public aware that average gun owners are saving lives each and every day.

Chicago Uber Driver Stops Mass Shooting - April 20, 2015
Authorities say no charges will be filed against an Uber driver who shot and wounded a gunman who opened fire on a crowd of people in Logan Square over the weekend.
The driver had a concealed carry permit and acted in the defense of himself and others, Assistant State's Attorney Barry Quinn said in court Sunday.
A group of people had been walking in front of the driver around 11:50 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when Everardo Custodio, 22, began firing into the crowd, Quinn said.
The driver pulled out a handgun and fired six shots at Custodio, hitting him several times.
Armed Wisconsin Man Ends Neigborhood Crime Wave - April 8, 2015
A crime rampage in Madison by two men, one of whom allegedly held a gun to the head of a 90-year-old woman during a home invasion, ended when an armed homeowner confronted the duo in his garage, police said Wednesday.
One of the men fled and was quickly captured by police, while the other was disarmed and held at gunpoint by the homeowner until officers arrived, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
Texas Man Stops Armed Home Invasion With Handgun - April 7, 2015
A man grabbed his gun and opened fire on suspects during a shootout early Tuesday morning when they kicked in the door at his home in northeast Harris County. The attempted home invasion happened about 4:10 a.m. in the 14100 block of Merry Meadow near Woodbend.
Officers said the family was asleep when two men kicked in the front door and started shooting. A resident on the couch woke up, grabbed his handgun and fired back firing about 10 shots toward the intruders.
The suspects backed away, climbed into a getaway car driven by a third suspect. The resident ran after them and the shootout continued as the suspects sped off.
Nebraska Business Owner With Gun Stops Brutal Stabbing - April 7, 2015
According to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, a call came in around 1 p.m. reporting the stabbing, which was first witnessed by a local store owner.
Lucuas Gerdes, the owner of Odessa Furniture, was on his way back from lunch when he drove upon an altercation between two men taking place in front of his store location on Odessa Road.
He immediately ran into his store to grab duct tape and a firearm to assist Quintana against the suspect.
Georgia Concealed Carry Holder Stops Carjacking - April 5, 2015
A Georgia man with a concealed-carry license is being hailed as a hero after preventing an attempted carjacking and possibly saving a woman's life at the Fast Track Car Wash in Smyrna, Georgia, on Friday afternoon.
When a teenager tried to steal a woman's car, she jumped on the hood to try and stop him from driving away. Witnesses say that prompted the alleged thief to speed up.
A gun-toting bystander saw the chaos unfolding and drew his weapon, shooting the thief in the shoulder.
The armed bystander, a Smyrna city employee, held the alleged carjacker at gunpoint until police arrived.
Citizen Holds Knife Weilding Suspect At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive - March 23, 2015
A civilian risked his own life to save a man from being attacked by a suspect with a knife in Salt Lake City.
"I was just in my car on North Temple, I saw a guy pull a knife on another guy, a fight ensued, the guy with the knife was swinging it several times at the unarmed person," said Nick, the civilian, who declined to give his last name.
Nick, a retired police officer, decided to step in, and pull his gun on the suspect. "I told him to lay down on the ground and he stayed there," said Nick.
Philadelphia Concealed Carrier Stops Barbershop Shooting Saving 8-10 Lives - March 22, 2015
A legal gun carrier likely saved several lives, including those of children, after another man pulled a gun and began shooting at a Philadelphia barber on Sunday, police said.
Warren Edwards was involved in an argument at Falah Barbershop at around 3 p.m. When a barber at the told Edwards to 'chill out,' he pulled a gun and began shooting.
A customer who had just walked into the barbershop pulled out his own gun and shot Edwards several times, hitting him in the chest. Edwards died on the way to the hospital.
Joplin MO Houseguest With Gun Stops Home Invasion, Kills One - March 17, 2015
The suspect killed in a home invasion Monday in Joplin was shot in self-defense by a guest staying at the address, police said.
Michael P. Dean, 32, of rural Joplin, was shot and killed in the early morning break-in at 1616 W. Fourth St. Authorities say Dean and three other men entered the home of Austin Kitchingham illegally and Dean was shot by a guest whose name has yet to be released.
"It was an invited guest who acted in self-defense," police said. "We still can't relinquish that person's name. But they are considered a victim (in the home invasion)."
Wife Of Newport News Police Officer Shoots Burglar - March 12, 2015
A Newport News mother shot a man who was trying to break into her home late Wednesday night.
Officers said they received a call about a burglary in progress in the 100 block of Grace Drive around 10:36 p.m. When officers were traveling to the residence, they were notified there had been a shooting at the home.
The woman who fired the shot said it all played out while she was on the phone with 911 dispatchers.
"I mean, he was coming at me, and I think he was yelling, but you know, it's one of those things were it was so fast, I don't know, but all I knew is he was coming at me and I knew if he got past me, my daughter was in the back room," said the woman.
West Virginia Pharmacist Shoots Armed Robber - February 18, 2015
Kanawha County deputies said a robbery suspect shot by a Pinch pharmacist has died from his injuries.
The robbery occurred about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Pharmacy on North Pinch Road, according to a news release. Deputies said a masked male suspect entered the pharmacy and pointed a firearm at the staff. The pharmacist on duty pulled his own firearm that he was carrying concealed and fired the weapon at the suspect. The suspect was struck and fell onto the pharmacy floor. Staff at the pharmacy then began to perform lifesaving measures on the suspect.
82 Year Old Woman Defends Herself From Three Robbers With Gun - February 18, 2015
Annabelle Williams, who just turned 82 yesterday, says she was in bed sleeping when she heard glass shattering in another bedroom. Startled, she thought a tree branch had broken the window but she then heard voices. That's when she grabbed her gun.
"I feared for my life, but I wasn't ready to die," she recalled. "I started praying and I asked the Lord to guide my hands" Williams says as she heard the footsteps of the intruders getting closer to her bedroom, she reached into her nightstand and and shot in the direction of their shadows. She struck two of the three intruders, one made it out but was later picked up by police. The other two lay dead in her living room.
Texas Woman Shoots Sex Offender During Home Invasion - February 11, 2015
A woman shot a convicted sex offender who was attempting to forcefully enter her home early Tuesday morning, according to Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office. The woman called 911 about 4:30 a.m., and deputies responded to her home on Texas State Highway 19 north of Canton.
Upon arrival, deputies found Christopher Ray Foster, 37, of Edgewood, was dead. Investigators determined that Foster was in the process of forcing entry into a side door of the home when the homeowner fatally shot him.
Georgia Woman Shot 3 Times Returns Fire And Lives - February 2, 2015
Authorities are looking for two suspects following a shooting Monday morning at a home near Lake Lanier northeast of Cumming.
According to the Sheriff's Office, a woman was shot three times, including at least once in the stomach, after she encountered the suspects robbing her house and exchanged gunfire with them.
"From what the investigation has revealed, she was awakened from noise and either came out or they went into her bedroom," Rainwater said. "She either had a gun with her or retrieved a gun and shot back."
Georgia Concealed Carry Holder Shoots And Kills Armed Robber - January 30, 2015
Two men attempting to sell a dog over the internet were involved in a fatal shooting in DeKalb County overnight. The shooting happened early Friday, when a breeder his friend drove to Fairforest Drive with an English bulldog to sell to the man who answered their online ad.
The 40 year old buyer produced a gun, intending to rob the sellers. The breeder's friend pulled out a gun of his own and shot the buyer, killing him. The sellers called 911 after the shooting.
Female College Student Fends Off Burglars WIth Her Gun - January 27, 2015
A UCF student pulled a handgun and fought off burglars that forced their way into her Village of Alafaya Club apartment on Tuesday.
At approximately 4:51 p.m. Tuesday night, two black males in their early 20's forced their way into the apartment of two UCF students, male and female, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
According to deputies, one of the suspects held a handgun to the male victim's head and ordered him to the ground. The female victim then ran into her bedroom and got her handgun.
Armed Citizen Stops Robbery At Arbys In Utah - January 25, 2015
Shortly before noon, a woman with a knife arrived at the Arby's at 1141 W. Highway 40 and allegedly demanded money. During the robbery, a man arrived at the Arby's, then went back to his vehicle, returned with a handgun and confronted the woman.
Officers arrived and detained both of them, but "immediately determined" that the man had detained the woman and was not a criminal.
Second Defensive Shooting In New Jersey In One Week - January 16, 2015
For the second time this week, someone working at a city business fired a weapon in self defense against armed robbery suspects.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday two men burst into a variety story in the 400 block of Central Avenue, Newark, with one man ordering customers onto the floor and threatening to shoot if the owner did not give them money. One of the suspects, 23-year-old Durell Hearn, was wielding an AK-47 pistol and fired a warning shot.
The owner of the business, who was behind the counter, reached for a handgun she keeps in the store and fired a number of rounds at Hearn and the other man, Arthur Price, 50.
Armed Customer Stop Houston Texas Robbery - January 12, 2015
A customer is being called a hero after pulling a gun on two armed robbery suspects at a Houston restaurant.
Koy Sam and his wife were closing at the time and two customers were finishing their meals when two men walked in with guns.
One of them forced the couple to the ground while the other went for the register.
He never made it because a customer confronted him with a gun.
Robber Killed After Pulling Gun To Steal Sneakers - December 22, 2014
Miami Township Ohio Police are confirming the shooting that left a juvenile male dead Saturday started over an attempted robbery of athletic shoes.
According to police, three juvenile males from Middletown approached two adult males outside the Dayton Mall around 10:00 a.m. Saturday. They say one of the juveniles produced a gun and demanded merchandise from the adult males. Police say one of the males, who had a valid concealed carry weapon permit, pulled out a gun of his own and shot the teen who had the gun. That teen, identified as Jawaad Jabbar, 16, died from a single gunshot wound.
Husband With Shotgun Saves Wife From Home Invader - December 9, 2014
A woman who just finished walking her dog in Avondale this morning was attacked when a man apparently followed her home and forced his way inside.
Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said the woman was walking her dog in the 3800 block of Fifth Avenue South.
When she finished and opened the door to her apartment, the assailant forced his way in behind her. He pushed her down and covered her mouth with his hand to keep her from screaming.
The husband was in the bedroom asleep, and heard his wife yelling. He rushed out to the living room, and the two men got into a fight.
