They decided to go inside the student's apartment but, as they entered, "this interloper followed them inside the residence," and was between the student and the woman, according to authorities.
The student, whose name authorities would not disclose, went into his bedroom, coming out with the AR-15 rifle he had purchased last year for self-protection. The man confronted Brisbon, who allegedly "came at" him, causing him to fear for his life and the lives of others in the apartment, according to authorities. That is when he fired a single shot from his weapon, authorities said.
The man called police, who found Brisbon on the living room floor of the apartment. Brisbon, whom authorities said was not armed, was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
