Title: Possession or transportation of firearms following convictions for certain misdemeanor crimes.

Subject: Crimes and Offenses Generally: Weapons: Misdemeanors: Firearms

Description: Purchase, possession, or transportation of firearms following convictions for certain misdemeanor crimes; penalty. Prohibits a person who has been convicted of misdemeanor sexual battery or assault and battery where the victim is a family or household member from purchasing, possessing or transporting a firearm. A person who violates this provision is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
