Description: An Act To Create The "mississippi Constitutional Carry And Citizens Self-defense Act"; To Create New Section 97-37-2, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify That No Person May Carry Any Weapon In Certain Locations; To Amend Section 97-37-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Any Person May Carry A Concealed Or Unconcealed Pistol, Revolver Or Stun Gun In All Areas Of The State That Do Not Prohibit Such Carrying If The Person Is At Least 18 Years Of Age; To Amend Section 45-9-53, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify That Municipalities And Counties Are Not Authorized To Regulate The Carrying Of Concealed Or Unconcealed Firearms; To Amend Section 97-37-17, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove The Institutions Of Higher Learning From The Definition Of Educational Property For Purposes Of Regulating Weapons On Educational Property; To Provide That It Shall Not Be A Violation For Any Person Who Is At Least 18 Years Of Age And Legally Able To Possess A Firearm To Carry Such On The Campus Of A Community Or Junior College; To Amend Section 45-9-101, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove The Penalty For Carrying A Concealed Firearm Without A Permit; To Reduce The Age To Qualify For A Concealed Permit To 18 Years Of Age; To Amend Section 37-101-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That The Board Of Trustees Of The State Institutions Of Higher Learning Shall Not Create Any Regulation That Prohibits The Carrying Of Any Firearm, Whether Such Firearm Is Concealed Or Not Concealed, On Any Land, Building Or Property Belonging To, Controlled By Or Assigned To The Use And Benefit Of The Board; To Amend Section 37-29-67, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That The Board Of Trustees Of The State Institutions Of Higher Learning Shall Not Create Any Regulation That Prohibits The Carrying Of Any Firearm, Whether Such Firearm Is Concealed Or Not Concealed, On Any Land, Building Or Property Belonging To, Controlled By Or Assigned To The Use And Benefit Of The Board; And For Related Purposes.
