Legislation Overview

Title: AN ACT relating to lost or stolen firearms.

Description: Create a new section of Chapter 237 to mandate reporting of lost or stolen firearms within 72 hours of the time a person knew or should have known the firearm was missing; require certain information about the firearm to be furnished to the Department of Kentucky State Police; instruct the department to create a system for sharing the collected information about lost or stolen firearms; set penalties for failure to report; amend KRS 237.110 to disqualify people with a third violation for failing to report from holding a carry concealed deadly weapons license.
