Legislation Overview

Title: CRIM CD-FIRST DEGREE MURDER

Description: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that it is an aggravating factor in sentencing for first degree murder that the murder was committed as a result of the intentional discharge of a firearm (rather than the murder was committed as a result of the intentional discharge of a firearm by the defendant from a motor vehicle and the victim was not present within the motor vehicle). Effective January 1, 2019.
