Legislation Overview

Title: CRIM CD-TRIGGER MODIFICATION

Description: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 concerning unlawful use of weapons. Prohibits the knowing sale, manufacture, purchase, possession, or carrying of a trigger modification device. Defines "trigger modification device". Provides that a person convicted of a violation commits a Class 2 felony and shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 3 years and not more than 7 years, unless the weapon is possessed in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, or on the person, while the weapon is loaded, in which case it shall be a Class X felony.
