Legislation Overview

Title: USE/OCC TAX-GUN SAFES

Description: Amends the Use Tax Act, the Service Use Tax Act, the Service Occupation Tax Act, and the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act. Provides that, beginning on January 1, 2022, the tax on gun safes and locks designed to secure firearms is imposed at the rate of 1%. Effective immediately.
