Legislation Overview

Title: Relating To Firearms.

Subject: Firearms: Lending: Firearm Permit: Firearm Registration

Description: Specifies that a rifle or shotgun may be lent to an adult who is twenty-one years of age or older. Repeals the authorization to lend a rifle or shotgun without a permit. Restricts the lending of a rifle or shotgun to twelve hours. Repeals language that authorized the use of a rifle or shotgun outside of the State for up to seventy-five days. Requires an adult who is borrowing a firearm to have either a firearm permit or a registered firearm, and is not prohibited to own or possess a firearm. Prohibits a person from lending a firearm, in addition to a person who is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm, to a person who does not have a firearm permit or does not have a registered firearm.
