This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for Maryland.

Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off (prefiled)

HB53 would make all firearm safety devices tax free

HB59 would allow anyone that owned an 'assault weapon' before the state ban to be able to replace it if it is lost or broken

SB160 would make permits from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia valid in the state

HB159 would ban carrying firearms on college campuses with limited exceptions

New last week HB318 would add in the term antique firearm to weapons not to be owned by prohibited persons

HB608 would allow an occupant of a dwelling to protect themselves against any intruder including using deadly force

HB610 would remove the language from law regarding applications for carry permits which requires a reason to carry to be given

HB611 would allow school boards to allow employees to carry firearms on school property

SB467 would add antique firearms to firearms not to be possessed by a prohibited person

HB663 would add 'personal protection and self–defense' as valid reasons to apply for a carry license

SB511 would add 'personal protection and self–defense' as valid reasons to apply for a carry license

HB820 would make carry permits from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC., or West Virginia valid in the state

HB821 would make carry permits valid for 5 years

HB827 would allow the training requirement for a carry permit to be waived in certain circumstances, such as when they are cover by a protection from abuse order

SB948 would require background checks on the private sale or transfer of rifles and shotguns with some exceptions

SB946 would make it a crime to carry on any property of an institution of higher learning

SB1011 would set up the right to defend oneself and ones property using deadly force

HB875 would remove the live fire requirements for concealed carry licenses

HB891 would lower the length of training classes required when applying for or renewing a concealed carry permit

HB905 would cut the cost of a handgun qualification license in half

SB826 would prohibit suspending sentences for anyone convicted of carrying a firearm if they have previously been convicted of certain crimes

HB958 would prohibit law enforcement from capturing license plate data at gun shows

HB1448 would require all rifle and shotgun sales and transfers to go through a dealer and a background check with very limited exceptions

HB1398 would prohibit police from using license plate captcha data to determine of the person has a carry permit

SB1091 would make carry permits good for 5 years

SB1180 would disband the handgun permit review board, which it's critics say overrides state police 'nos' too many times
