This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for Florida.

Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off (prefiled):

S0128 would require prosecutors ot bear the burdon of proof when someone has claimed immunity (self defense)

H6005 would allow open and concealed carry into college or university facility.

S0142 would require all loaded firearms to be locked up or have a trigger lock installed if there are any minors (aged 16 or younger) in the home

S0140 would allow open carry of firearms with a license

H6001 would make it illegal to carry a firearm anywhere in an airport

S0170 would prohibit firearms from sporting arenas and theaters

S0618 would allow firearms to be carried into airport terminals (non-secure areas)

S0620 would strike any meeting of the Legislature or a committee from the list of prohibited places

S0622 would allow carrying on college campuses

S0626 would strike meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district from the list of prohibited places

S0644 would allow open carry with a license

S0646 would make the penalty for open carry a non-criminal offense punishable by a $25 fine, furthermore the person may not be arrested

S0610 would make businesses liable if they post their property to ban the carrying of firearms

H0673 would waive firearm purchase background checks for anyone that has a carry license

H0779 removes the exemption about temporarily exposing a concealed firearm but it also makes it a non-criminal offense with a fine of $25

H0803 would allow carrying in many places that are now prohibited and would allow open carry

S0908 would allow carrying in many places that are now prohibited and would allow open carry

H0819 would make business owners responsible for their customer safety if they prohibit carrying of firearms

H0835 would require all firearms to be locked at all times if there are children under 16 in the hone

S0956 would require anyone who wishes to get a concealed carry license to be screened by a mental health profession

H0849 is a very strange change to carrying on school property, it elminates the term private for schools and adds the term 'during school hours or during school-sanctioned events' to the prohibition for carrying firearms. Very confusing and poorly worded, could lead to a lot of confusion

H1103 would prohibit anyone under any form of restraining order, whether permanent or temporary, form owning firearms

H6033 would repeal the law regarding doctors being prohibited from asking patients about firearm ownership now that it has been found unconstitutional by the courts

S1330 would change the prohibition on carry guns at schools to apply only to public schools

S1334 would require all private sales to go through a dealer along with a background check

H1113 is a universal background check bill

H6039 would remove the prohibition on carrying at any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district, any meeting of the Legislature or a committee and at career centers

S1518 would retract the language regarding doctors asking about guns that was recently struck down by the courts

New for Florida:

H1355 would require anyone wanting to get a concealed carry license to firt get a mental health evaluation

H1409 goes hand in hand with SO254, which requires registration of assault weapons and large capacity magazines, this bill would make that registration information private

S0120 would make business liable for customer safety if they prohibit carrying firearms

H0321 would outlaw bump fire stocks and would require anyone that owns one to surrender it to police

S0148 would loosen restrictions and penalties for 'accidental' open carry

H0039 lessens the penalties for 'accidentally' exposing a concealed firearm but we honestly think they just need to stop screwing around and legalize open carry

S0218 would basically require anyone with kids to keep their firearms locked up at all times

H0113 would allow concealed carry on school property if a 'religious institution' is located on it

S0240 would clarify law regarding carrying firearms on private school property by stating the law does not apply to concealed permit holders

H0219 is an assault weapon and high capacity magazine ban bill. It would also require anyone that owns them before the ban to register them with the state and get a certificate

H0221 would make the records of people registering their 'assault weapons' or high capacity magazines exempt from the freedom of information act

S0400 would add the requirement to get a mental health evaluation conducted by a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist to the concealed carry requirements

H0231 would create 'high risk protection orders' that would allow family or friends to file one based on their belief a person might harm themselves. The orders would require firearms to be surrendered

H0269 would require anyone wishing to get a concealed carry license to see a licensed mental health professional

S0456 would outlaw bump stocks

H0383 would set up a means to secure firearms when entering a courthouse and would preempt local governments from restricting it

S0740 would make changes to concealed carry application laws including allowing tax collectors to issue them

H0553 would add a DD214 to the list of acceptable training to  get a concealed carry license provided it is no older than 3 years

H0621 would allow school's an exemption to the firearm on school property ban should they choose to do so

S0838 is a universal background check bill

H0739 would add quite a few exceptions to the laws regarding carrying a firearm, opening up many places a person can carry to an from

S1048 would allow houses of worship to allow concealed carry within the premises

S1236 would allow designated employees and teachers that have a concealed carry license to carry on school property

S1242 would open up carrying a gun while doing quite a few activities

H0997 would use taxpayer money to provide grants for gun buyback programs
