The text of the ballot initiative is:

"Initiative Measure No. 1491 concerns court-issued extreme risk protection orders temporarily preventing access to firearms.

This measure would allow police, family, or household members to obtain court orders temporarily preventing firearms access by persons exhibiting mental illness, violent or other behavior indicating they may harm themselves or others.

Should this measure be enacted into law?"

Basically it would allow anyone to claim someone is a danger to themselves or others and the courts would have to issue the order and order the surrender of the person's firearms and ammunition.

As we have seem more times than we can count these type orders are consitently abused and used as a reven tactic. Make sure you let all your friends and family know this is a bad initiative and to vote no!
