Gun Owner Defense Stories
While no one ever wants to have to draw their weapon and even more so kill another person average citizens defend themselves, and others, on a daily basis. We do not post these stories to glorify them, far from it. Taking another humans life is a horrible thing that no one wants to experience. But since these type of stories are often overlooked by main stream media and anti-gun groups constantly tell us guns don't save lives we feel the need to keep the public aware that average gun owners are saving lives each and every day.

Carolina Homeowner Shoots And Kills Burglar That Assaulted Family - August 22, 2014
A burglary in Mechanicsville has left one suspect dead and several victims injured, according to Sheriff Wayne Byrd with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office.
Byrd said two men broke into the home and physically assaulted two women and struck an 11-year-old boy in the head with a gun.
He said the homeowner was in a back room asleep and woke up to all the commotion.
"He was at the back of the residence, came out fired several shots at the intruders, and they fled the scene."
73 Year Old Woman Shoots Burglar Through Door - August 21, 2014
A 73 year old woman shot through a door and wounded suspected burglar as he approached her bedroom.
Police spokesman Jake Smith said Thursday that the woman called 911 when she heard glass breaking at her back door and fired through her bedroom door when she saw a flashlight shining on the other side.
Husband And Wife Take Out Armed Home Invader - August 15, 2014
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the man, 21-year-old Marquise Trevel Yates, broke into a home on Seabrook Cove Road, off Arlington Expressway, about 6:30 a.m. and threatened the homeowner, 50-year-old Foster Coker, at gunpoint.
Coker retrieved his personal firearm and exchanged gunfire with Yates. Coker's wife, Pam, also fired her personal handgun at Yates, who died at the scene.
Florida Armed Victim Returns Fire At Gang Member, Killing Him - August 7, 2014
An armed Lakeland man killed a 14-year-old gang member in a shootout Wednesday evening after both drew guns and opened fire, according to the Lakeland Police Department.
Virgis Canteen, 43, had accused Davion Smith of burglarizing his apartment last month, records show. At 7:49 p.m., Smith and two unidentified companions began taunting Canteen in the courtyard outside his Oregon Avenue apartment before the teen drew an handgun, a witness told police.
Canteen also had a handgun and, according to Canteen, the teen began shooting at him first, striking him several times in the "upper extremities," police spokesman Sgt. Gary Gross said in a report.Canteen said he returned fire, striking the teen "numerous times."
Connecticut Store Clerk Shoots Kills Armed Robber - August 6, 2014
A New Haven convenience store owner shot and killed a man suspected of trying to rob his store and another store owned by his brother at gunpoint on the same night, police said.
According to police, the owner of Congress Mini Market at 750 Congress Avenue called 911 to report that a man armed with a rifle had tried to rob him Tuesday night.
While detectives were interviewing him, the store owner's brother called to say he had just shot a man who tried to rob his store, Nino's Mini Market at 659 Washington Avenue, according to police.
Alabama Woman Pretends To Get Credit Card, Pulls Gun Instead - August 3, 2014
The woman pretended to adhere to the intruder's demands by going to get her debit card from her purse, but, unbeknownst to the suspect, that wasn't the only thing she was going to retrieve. The woman pulled out her card as well as a gun and shot the man in the hand. The wounded suspect managed to flee the scene before police could arrive, and he has yet to be captured.
Gas Station Clerk Shoots Robber Twice - August 1, 2014
"He started shaking the gun at me telling me to give him the other till which we don't keep there anymore because we got robbed at the same store on June 25th at 2:40 in the afternoon. So that's why we had a weapon there. He got upset because there wasn't another till, so he said give me that green bag over there.
"I got my gun. I hit the silent alarm. I exchanged fire. I didn't realize I shot 6 times in less than 2 seconds," says Williams.

Three men break in to a home and end up coming face to face with the person living there.
At some point, police say gunfire was traded and one of the bad guys was killed. The two other guys took off after the gunfire erupted inside the home in the 3100 block of N. College Ave.
PA Doctor Stops Hospital Shooter - July 24, 2014
Dr. Lee Silverman, a psychiatrist, was grazed in the temple during the gunfight in his office with patient Richard Plotts, according to District Attorney Jack Whelan.
"When the caseworker was shot, (Silverman) crouched down behind the desk to avoid him being shot," Whelan said. "He was able to reach for his weapon, and realizing it was a life or death situation, was able to engage the defendant in the exchange of gunfire."
A struggle ensued and spilled out into the hallway, Whelan said. Another doctor and a caseworker jumped in to help Silverman and secure Plotts' weapon, he said.
PA Homeowner Stops Two Home Invaders With Shotgun - July 22, 2014
Channel 11 reported that the victim opened fire on the two men accused of breaking into his home, killing one and critically injuring the other.Detectives said the men demanded the victim's belongings, but instead he pulled out a shotgun and opened fire.
Investigators said one of the men tried to run away after he was shot, but fell as he was trying to flee.
Homeowner Stops Robbery By Three Teens, Shoots One - July 22, 2014
Three teens are under arrest and a fourth is in the hospital after a resident fought back during an attempted robbery.
Police say the teens tried to rob a resident inside the Laurel Park Apartments on Highway 85 around 3 a.m.
The victim shot one of the teens and the other three ran off. The resident called police, who tracked down all four, taking three into custody and sending one to the hospital.
Employee Stops Man With Gun Threating Him By Pulling A Shotgun - July 18, 2014
Authorities claim the man had entered the store about two hours prior to his arrest, but was kicked out of after an employee allegedly caught him attempting to steal merchandise.
As the employee kicked him out, the man allegedly told the employee that he would return to the store with a gun and shoot the employee in the head.
Beamon allegedly returned to the store and pulled a handgun on the store employees, according to the affidavit.However, the man fled the store after a store employee pulled a shotgun from under the counter and racked it.
Florida Armed Driver Stops Stabbing - July 16, 2014
A group of good Samaritans stopped a suspect who was stabbing an elderly man at a bus stop Wednesday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
A good Samaritan who was driving by the bus stop witnessed the stabbing, pulled his gun out of his car and held the suspect at gunpoint, deputies said.
Armed, Naked Homeowner Scares Off Burglar - July 11, 2014
The homeowner woke up to see a flashlight moving around outside his bedroom door, police said.
After checking that his wife was sleeping beside him, the homeowner grabbed the 9mm handgun he keeps in his nightstand and leapt out of bed. He didnâ€™t have any clothes on.
Upon confronting the homeowner, the burglar screamed "Iâ€™m so sorry, sir" twice before he ran and jumped out of the first floor window.
Toledo Man Threatens Ex In Resturaunt Shot By Owner - July 9, 2014
Jerold Riley, who is on probation for a domestic violence conviction, was shot by Bobby Howard, 71, the owner of Howard's Drâ€Ťive-Thru, 1001 Nebraska Ave. Mr. Riley was inside the central Toledo carryout on Monday night, allegedly with a gun, and making threats to his ex-girlfriend. At some point, Mr. Howard pulled out a gun and shot Mr. Riley once in the back.

A Gresham man fired on a group of people leaving a party, only to be shot himself by one of the victims, a military service member with a concealed carry permit, authorities said.
The military member and three others were leaving a party Friday night in the 11700 block of South Union Avenue in West Pullman, Assistant State's Attorney Mary Hain said during a court hearing Sunday.
Wheelchair Bound Homeowner Kills Intruder - July 3, 2014
A wheelchair-bound Powdersville area homeowner shot and killed an intruder who tried to burglarize his home and was shot in the process, according to the Anderson County Coroner's Office.
Orlandous Brown, 33, of 103 Woodhaven Court, Easley, shot a 26-year-old Atlanta man multiple times and survived being shot himself.
Brown was taken to the hospital where he went through surgery for non-life-threatening wounds, Boseman said.
Kentucky Employee Pulls Gun Holds Robbers For Police - July 1, 2014
Lexington police said three men, all wearing hoodies, entered the store on West New Circle Road about 3 p.m., and one of the men pulled out a sledgehammer from underneath his hoodie. The man broke a jewelry case filled with Rolex watches and tried to leave.
The general manager took a gun out of his pocket and ordered the men onto the ground. The men complied. Police arrived within minutes and arrested the men.
California Homeowner Shoots And Wounds Armed Intruder - June 25, 2014
A Chino Hills homeowner shot and wounded an intruder, his daughter's ex-boyfriend, moments after the man repeatedly stabbed him, sheriff's officials say.
As (the homeowner) was approaching the garage, he was attacked by the suspect and stabbed multiple times. The victim was armed and fired at the suspect, striking him twice.
Philadelphia Store Owner Shoots - Kills Knife Weilding Robber - June 23, 2014
Police say it was just after 5:00 p.m. that the 47-year-old bandit walked into the Stan's Health Food store in the 7100 block of Frankford Avenue.
Moments later, he pulled the knife on the store owner and announced a holdup.
The perpetrator, point of knife, took the cash register from the counter, threw it on the ground forcibly in order to open it, and started removing money from the cash register.
Police say once he had the money in his hands, he pointed the knife against Doyle's chest.
Doyle, according to police, then pulled out her gun and shot the suspect once in his chest.
