Gun Owner Defense Stories
While no one ever wants to have to draw their weapon and even more so kill another person average citizens defend themselves, and others, on a daily basis. We do not post these stories to glorify them, far from it. Taking another humans life is a horrible thing that no one wants to experience. But since these type of stories are often overlooked by main stream media and anti-gun groups constantly tell us guns don't save lives we feel the need to keep the public aware that average gun owners are saving lives each and every day.

Homeowner Stops Robbery By Three Teens, Shoots One - July 22, 2014
Three teens are under arrest and a fourth is in the hospital after a resident fought back during an attempted robbery.
Police say the teens tried to rob a resident inside the Laurel Park Apartments on Highway 85 around 3 a.m.
The victim shot one of the teens and the other three ran off. The resident called police, who tracked down all four, taking three into custody and sending one to the hospital.
Employee Stops Man With Gun Threating Him By Pulling A Shotgun - July 18, 2014
Authorities claim the man had entered the store about two hours prior to his arrest, but was kicked out of after an employee allegedly caught him attempting to steal merchandise.
As the employee kicked him out, the man allegedly told the employee that he would return to the store with a gun and shoot the employee in the head.
Beamon allegedly returned to the store and pulled a handgun on the store employees, according to the affidavit.However, the man fled the store after a store employee pulled a shotgun from under the counter and racked it.
Florida Armed Driver Stops Stabbing - July 16, 2014
A group of good Samaritans stopped a suspect who was stabbing an elderly man at a bus stop Wednesday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
A good Samaritan who was driving by the bus stop witnessed the stabbing, pulled his gun out of his car and held the suspect at gunpoint, deputies said.
Armed, Naked Homeowner Scares Off Burglar - July 11, 2014
The homeowner woke up to see a flashlight moving around outside his bedroom door, police said.
After checking that his wife was sleeping beside him, the homeowner grabbed the 9mm handgun he keeps in his nightstand and leapt out of bed. He didnâ€™t have any clothes on.
Upon confronting the homeowner, the burglar screamed "Iâ€™m so sorry, sir" twice before he ran and jumped out of the first floor window.
Toledo Man Threatens Ex In Resturaunt Shot By Owner - July 9, 2014
Jerold Riley, who is on probation for a domestic violence conviction, was shot by Bobby Howard, 71, the owner of Howard's Drâ€Ťive-Thru, 1001 Nebraska Ave. Mr. Riley was inside the central Toledo carryout on Monday night, allegedly with a gun, and making threats to his ex-girlfriend. At some point, Mr. Howard pulled out a gun and shot Mr. Riley once in the back.

A Gresham man fired on a group of people leaving a party, only to be shot himself by one of the victims, a military service member with a concealed carry permit, authorities said.
The military member and three others were leaving a party Friday night in the 11700 block of South Union Avenue in West Pullman, Assistant State's Attorney Mary Hain said during a court hearing Sunday.
Wheelchair Bound Homeowner Kills Intruder - July 3, 2014
A wheelchair-bound Powdersville area homeowner shot and killed an intruder who tried to burglarize his home and was shot in the process, according to the Anderson County Coroner's Office.
Orlandous Brown, 33, of 103 Woodhaven Court, Easley, shot a 26-year-old Atlanta man multiple times and survived being shot himself.
Brown was taken to the hospital where he went through surgery for non-life-threatening wounds, Boseman said.
Kentucky Employee Pulls Gun Holds Robbers For Police - July 1, 2014
Lexington police said three men, all wearing hoodies, entered the store on West New Circle Road about 3 p.m., and one of the men pulled out a sledgehammer from underneath his hoodie. The man broke a jewelry case filled with Rolex watches and tried to leave.
The general manager took a gun out of his pocket and ordered the men onto the ground. The men complied. Police arrived within minutes and arrested the men.
California Homeowner Shoots And Wounds Armed Intruder - June 25, 2014
A Chino Hills homeowner shot and wounded an intruder, his daughter's ex-boyfriend, moments after the man repeatedly stabbed him, sheriff's officials say.
As (the homeowner) was approaching the garage, he was attacked by the suspect and stabbed multiple times. The victim was armed and fired at the suspect, striking him twice.
Philadelphia Store Owner Shoots - Kills Knife Weilding Robber - June 23, 2014
Police say it was just after 5:00 p.m. that the 47-year-old bandit walked into the Stan's Health Food store in the 7100 block of Frankford Avenue.
Moments later, he pulled the knife on the store owner and announced a holdup.
The perpetrator, point of knife, took the cash register from the counter, threw it on the ground forcibly in order to open it, and started removing money from the cash register.
Police say once he had the money in his hands, he pointed the knife against Doyle's chest.
Doyle, according to police, then pulled out her gun and shot the suspect once in his chest.
Armed Robber Bet Victim He Didn't Have A Gun - He Was Wrong - June 20, 2014
Jackson police say a guest at a nearby Motel 6 had a run in with the man in the rear parking lot. They say the guest was approached by a man asking for cigarettes. The hotel guest said he didn't have any cigarettes.
The man began to walk away, turned around and said "betcha' ain't got one of these," pointing a gun at the victim. The man did however have "one of these" and fired at the man trying to rob him, striking him in the chest.
Man Shoots Mother's Drunken Boyfriend After He Attacked Them - June 19, 2014
A man shot his mother's boyfriend to save her from an alleged attack. Now the boyfriend faces several aggravated assault charges.
Police say Tony Hardin was in the middle of a heated argument with his live-in girlfriend and her adult son. They say a drunk Hardin ran after the two with a hammer and wrench, and threatened to kill them.
The mother and son escaped, and in the chaos, the son fired several shots at Hardin, who was hit in the back.
Husband Shoots And Wounds Two Armed Home Invaders - June 18, 2014
A 56-year-old woman and her 15-year-old son were in the front of the house when the men broke through the door and demanded money. The 59-year-old husband/father was in the back of the house, according to reports.
At some point during the burglary, the son was shot in the leg by one of the offenders. The mother attempted to flee to the back of the house and was shot in the arm.
After hearing the commotion and gunfire, the father walked to the front room of the house with a handgun and shot both burglars multiple times. The men fled on foot, according to reports.
Neighbor Shoots Murder Suspect Attacking Woman - June 11, 2014
Lancaster police expect to charge 29-year-old Jermaine Grier with murder. They said on Tuesday night Grier shot and killed his brother-in-law James Hood, 48, in his apartment on Caroline Court.
Roger Lowery awoke to a chilling sound on west Brooklyn Avenue, only a few blocks away. He heard a woman screaming for help from his front porch. He flipped on his light and stepped outside.
The young woman was Grier's cousin, who lived across the street from Lowery. Sheriff's deputies said shortly after the homicide Grier had shown up at the woman's house with a gun, attacked his cousin and shot at her.
He grabbed his 38 revolver and pointed it at Grier's head, telling him to stop and leave. Grier refused after being told repeatedly.
South Carolina Homeowner Shoots Recently Released Prisoner Who Killed Brother - June 10, 2014
A Lancaster man just released from prison a week ago is accused of shooting his brother-in-law to death Tuesday night, then holding several of his family members at gunpoint before a homeowner shot him to end his assault on another relative, authorities say.
Jermaine Grier, 29, remained hospitalized in critical condition and under police guard Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Grier is considered a suspect in two separate incidents that both police officers and Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
Las Vegas Police Calling CC Holder That Stopped Shooters A Hero - June 9, 2014
After the shooting, the couple headed toward a nearby Wal-Mart, where Jerad Miller was confronted by Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31, of Las Vegas. Wilcox was legally carrying a concealed pistol. Wilcox was unaware that Amanda Miller, who was pushing a shopping cart, was involved in the incident and "lying in wait," the official said.
She slipped behind Wilcox and shot him at close range.
"He had no idea the wife was walking behind him," the police official said of the murdered man. "This guy (Wilcox) was not some idiot with a gun. To me, he was a hero. He was trying to stop an active shooter."
Legal Gun Owner Stops Man Who Threatens To Shoot Everyone In Park - June 8, 2014
A man was shot at the Huntsville Skate Park on Cleveland Avenue Sunday night after he "threatened to shoot everyone" during an argument and fight that escalated to a shootout.
The argument escalated into a physical fight, then one of the people involved in the fight went to a car and got a gun and "threatened to shoot everyone," according to a police report; the father then got his own gun and the two exchanged shots, according to witnesses on the scene.
Concealed Carry Holder Shoots Man That Shoots Off Duty Cop - May 31, 2014
The incident started when Jordan, who was working an off-duty security job, removed three drunken and disruptive customers from inside. Police said Chantell Mixon, 28, put up a fight in the parking lot while Jordan tried to arrest her. Police said Mixon's boyfriend, 30-year-old Michael Dwayne Bowman, pulled out a gun and shot Jordan at least three times.
Jordan's brother, who had come to the Waffle House to meet with him, witnessed the confrontation and opened fire, hitting Bowman, according to police. Raymond Jordan is a civilian but had a permit to carry a gun, police said.
One Home Invader Killed, Second Shot By Armed 22 Year Old - May 27, 2014
A violent gun battle inside a rural home near Orosi, California early Tuesday ended with a robbery victim shot multiple times, one suspect dead and a second seriously wounded.
Deputies say four siblings, ages 22, 18, 11 and 8, were in the home just before 6 a.m. when the 22 year old man heard the sound of someone breaking through a door, then saw a least two people in his home. The man got a handgun out of a safe and confronted the suspects. Deputies say the man and at least one intruder exchanged fire.
Texas Woman Stops Robbery With Handgun - May 23, 2014
A man who tried to take money from a Fort Dodge textbook store didn't get a single dime Wednesday after an employee pulled a handgun on the would-be thief.
She got the gun out of the safe and pointed it at the would-be thief. She said she told him to leave the store and backed away with the gun pointed at him.
She told a person who called during the attempted robbery to call 911. The man took off, and she chased him into the parking lot while yelling, 'Call 911.'
