Gun Owner Defense Stories
While no one ever wants to have to draw their weapon and even more so kill another person average citizens defend themselves, and others, on a daily basis. We do not post these stories to glorify them, far from it. Taking another humans life is a horrible thing that no one wants to experience. But since these type of stories are often overlooked by main stream media and anti-gun groups constantly tell us guns don't save lives we feel the need to keep the public aware that average gun owners are saving lives each and every day.

Tulsa Homeowner Shoots Intruder - October 14, 2013
Charles Sweeny said Monday he went for a walk over the weekend and when he returned he immediately knew something was wrong.
"I saw the top dresser drawer was open," he said.
Sweeny said he immediately grabbed his gun before looking up and seeing a man in his bedroom doorway.
Sweeny fired several rounds at the stranger before running out of his home and calling the police.
Home Invasion Stopped By Armed Home Owner - September 30, 2013
Police said 44-year-old Christopher Dennison of Livermore Falls was wearing a ski mask and brass knuckles as he broke into a mobile home on Foss Hill Lane on Saturday night.
Police said the homeowner, 48-year-old Richard Duffy, shot Dennison after a brief altercation with him in the living room.
Homeowner Shoots Robber In The Face - September 26, 2013
Police tell Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh that two men tried to break into a home on Greenway Road on Thursday morning.
The homeowner went to investigate a noise at the door and found two robbers smashing their way in his house, police said.
"Moments later he heard somebody crashing open the back window," said Gwinnett County police Cpl. Ed Ritter."He called police and apparently was on the phone with 911 at the time this was happening and at that time he fired the weapon at the suspects."
Texas Business Owner Stops Robbery, Kills One Robber - September 18, 2013
Duayne Deandre-Devon Smith, 25, of Port Arthur, was killed when a business owner opened fire on three people accused of trying to rob a game room in the 3600 block of East Lucas Drive. around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The store owner had a firearm inside the business and was able to grab it during the robbery, according to Beaumont police.
The store owner wasn't hurt in the exchange of gun fire.
Newly Trained Pregnant Wife Fends Off Two Intruders With Gun - September 9, 2013
The pregnant homeowner has never been comfortable with guns. But when her husband bought one, he insisted on showing her how to use it. Earlier this week, she was alone in their TX home when 2 men broke in. She grabbed the gun and fired. They ran, and were arrested a short time later after a standoff with police.
She is now thankful that her husband helped prepare her for the worst. "I was against him buying a gun maybe 7-8 months ago, but I told him, 'I don't know if I told you thank you for doing that' because it changed the situation completely"
Florida Pizza Delivery Man Shoots Robber - August 25, 2013
Authorities with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said Bryon Park, of Palm Bay, had just returned to his vehicle when when he was approached by Fredrick Kelly Jr., about midnight Friday at the Days Inn on West New Haven Avenue.
Investigators said Kelly approached Park with a large knife and threatened to kill him if he didn't hand over money.
Officials said Park was able to get a hold of a firearm he was carrying in his vehicle and fired a single gunshot that killed Kelly.
Ohio Man Kills Robber After Being Stabbed - August 23, 2013
Paramedics arrived to find a 38-year-old Robert Shoemaker had been stabbed three times in the neck and 44-year-old Chad Gabbard had been shot to death.
Shoemaker was taken to West Chester Medical Center. His condition hasn't been released.
Police said it appeared Gabbard had attempted to rob Shoemaker and got into a fight. At some point, Shoemaker pulled a gun and shot the attempted robber, police said.
Iowa husband shoots, kills escaped inmate who held him, wife hostage - August 21, 2013
An Iowa man shot and killed an escaped inmate on Tuesday after the convict held him and his wife hostage in their home, investigators said.
Jerome Mauderly, 71, and his wife, Carolyn, 66, were asleep when escaped inmate Rodney Long, 38, broke into their rural Bedford home a little after 10 p.m. on Monday, said Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation spokesman Mitch Mortvedt.
Cleveland Ohio Man Shoots And Kills Robber That Pistol Whipped Him - July 30, 2013
According to the police, the homeowner and a woman were leaving the house and were getting into the homeowner's car when they were approached by two men wearing masks.
One of the men had a handgun and used it to pistol-whip the homeowner and then attempted to pull him from the vehicle. The homeowner managed to retrieve a gun from the car and shot the suspect several times.
Cleveland Ohio Man Defends Himself Against Robbers, Killing One - July 29, 2013
A homeowner used his concealed handgun to shoot and kill one of two men early Monday morning in what police described as an armed robbery in the homeowner's North Collinwood neighborhood driveway.
The robbery suspect, 23-year-old Waymone Williams, had been ordered by a judge last January to take a one-day concealed-carry class about the consequences of having a weapon in a crime. The homeowner, Timothy Peak, had a concealed-carry permit, police said.
Waffle House Bandit Shot By Customer - July 29, 2013
A would-be robber was shot early Monday when he tried to hold up a south Fulton County Waffle House, police said.
Union City police Det. Gloria Hodgson said the suspect entered the Waffle House in the 4300 block of Jonesboro Road just before 2 a.m., "brandishing a pistol and demanding money."
Charges against PA man for shooting at intruder dropped under Castle Doctrine Law - July 17, 2013
A Pennsylvania resident who had charges filed against him after shooting at an intruder earlier this year, has now had those charges dropped.
David Delledonne, 59, of Berks County faced simple assault and reckless endangerment charges for the March shooting, which left one man with a non-life threatening injury.
Cleveland Man Shoots Intruder Holding Fiancee At GunPoint - July 16, 2013
A Cleveland man is being praised by a city councilman for shooting an armed intruder at his Pawnee Avenue home Tuesday.
It all started when Jacquella Lattimore left the house to take her children to camp. Police say she was accosted by three men who were trying to force her back into the house at gunpoint. What the intruders apparently didn't know is that Lattimore's fiance, Johnny Bridges, was watching from the window with his gun.
San Bernardino Father Saves Daughter From Burglar - June 24, 2013
Late Saturday June 22 a San Bernardino woman heard noise on her family's property. After walking into the house where she heard the news she was attacked by suspected burglar Leonard Guerra. She immediately began to scream for her father who was home.
The woman's father grabbed his gun and ran towards the screams. As he entered the house he was attacked by the burglar and fired his gun, hitting the attacker.

An armed man trying to rob customers outside an Atlanta shoe store was shot and killed by one of the customers in the line that was legally carrying a firearm.
The shooting happened Saturday June 22 outside a Wish Clothing store in the city's Little Five Points neighborhood where people had lined up to buy sneakers endorsed by LeBron James.
Houston Homeowner Shoots Intruder During Burglary - June 21, 2013
A homeowner in Houston stopped a suspected burglar when he tried to break into his house early Thursday morning.
A local news report stated that the homeowner woke up to the sound of banging just after midnight. He grabbed his handgun and went to see what it was. He discovered Guillermo Andrade trying to kick in the back door.
He fired several shots at Andrade, hitting him twice. He then crawled into the front yard and when the homeowner followed him, Andrade â€“ even with two hunshot wounds â€“ became physically violent toward the homeowner, who held him down until deputies arrived.

There were six people inside the home watching a movie about 11 p.m. when they heard someone at the front door.
"Not even two seconds later, the door is getting kicked in and someone's yelling, 'Get on the ground, get on the ground, shut up,'" said one of the men inside the home, who did not want to be identified. "By the time I jump to the floor, my life flashes beneath my eyes. I hear a bunch of gunshots. I don't know who's shooting, and then silence."

Home Invaders Stopped By Shotgun Blast In Tennessee - June 5, 2013
Knoxville police are investigating an attempted home invasion early today in East Knoxville that was repelled by a shotgun blast.
The homeowner told police that two men attempted to force their way into her home at 1940 Linden Ave. about 12:10 a.m., according to Knoxville Police Department Sgt. Jason Keck.
The 51-year-old woman said she got her shotgun and fired a round into the front door, apparently not striking anyone, but ending the attempted invasion.
