Gun Owner Defense Stories
While no one ever wants to have to draw their weapon and even more so kill another person average citizens defend themselves, and others, on a daily basis. We do not post these stories to glorify them, far from it. Taking another humans life is a horrible thing that no one wants to experience. But since these type of stories are often overlooked by main stream media and anti-gun groups constantly tell us guns don't save lives we feel the need to keep the public aware that average gun owners are saving lives each and every day.

Chicago Homeowner Shoots & Kills One Of Two Burglars - February 1, 2014
A 44-year-old man on crutches fatally shot one of two intruders who came charging at him Friday morning in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, according to police.
Mario Viramontes, 31, was declared dead on the scene in 2000 block of West 21st Street at 9:22 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police were called to the scene about 9:10 a.m. for a burglary, and when they arrived, they found that a "male offender"; who had been trying to commit a burglary had been shot by the homeowner, said Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.
Disabled Homeowner Shoots Would Be Burglar - January 27, 2014
Ruben Hernandez, 54, was watching TV at his home at about 8:30 p.m. when he heard a loud banging that grew louder, according to a police report. A metal object was used to hit Hernandez's door, according to police.
Hernandez told police he heard the voice of a man, 19, whom he knew, yelling at him to come out.
Hernandez is disabled and he was scared for his life, thinking the other men were trying to break in, according to police.
Hernandez grabbed a single shot 12-gauge shotgun and fired one shot of No. 8 birdshot through the window, according to police. He told police he did not want to kill anyone.
Homeowner Shoots Burglar After Being Shot - January 26, 2014
An attempted home burglary Saturday evening left both a Wilsonville homeowner and one of the suspected burglars recovering from gun-shots wounds.
According to the home's residents, the trouble began when they returned home yesterday evening to discover their home being burglarized. At least one of the suspects brandished a gun and shot the homeowner in the leg. The homeowner then returned fire, shooting one of the suspects.
7-Eleven Clerk Opens Fire On Would Be Robber - January 26, 2014
A 7-Eleven clerk shot a man attempting to rob the store Saturday night, police said.
The suspect, a 36-year-old black male, entered the 7-Eleven located in the 1300 block of Jeff Davis Highway just after 11 p.m.
According to Richmond police, Robert Lee Brown Jr. was armed with a pellet gun when he demanded money from the cashier.
Brown was then grabbed suddenly by another clerk and during a brief struggle in which he bit the clerk on his left arm, the other clerk shot the suspect with a handgun.
Phoenix Homeowner Kills Home Invader - January 17, 2014
Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson says a homeowner woke up after hearing a noise and found an intruder in his home around 3:15 a.m. on Friday.
The homeowner has a gun and reportedly shot and killed the man.
Phoenix Robber Shot By Store Owner - January 14, 2014
A woman who allegedly tried to rob a Phoenix jewelry store is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot several times by the store owner.
Phoenix police spokesman Tommy Thompson said the owner and the suspect exchanged gunfire Tuesday afternoon at Diamond Star AZ Jewelry near 13th Street and Northern Avenue.
PA Man Fends Off Four Home Invaders, Shoots One - January 14, 2014
Kostek says it all started when a man knocked on Braman's door saying they broke down and needed help. State police say once Braman noticed the man was wearing a ski mask, he attempted to close the door, but it was too late. He was thrown to the ground on his back, and the gun he was holding went off three times in the struggle.
One suspect, Francis Muchanic, 31, of Susquehanna, was shot in the groin.
PA Man Kills Armed Robber - January 13, 2014
Police say an apparent attempted robbery outside a Philadelphia-area tavern ended with one man dead and another hospitalized.
Authorities said a 31-year-old Chester man armed with a handgun apparently tried to rob a 22-year-old Marcus Hook man outside Bill's Tavern in the city of Chester just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Armed Citizen Stops Mass Shooting In Portland Strip Club - January 12, 2014
Four people were shot at a Southeast Portland strip club after gunfire erupted Saturday evening, police said.
It all started around 8:40 p.m. when a gunman walked into the Mystic Gentleman's Club at Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 99th Avenue and opened fire, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
The shooter hit three people, prompting a person in the bar to return fire, hitting and critically injuring the suspect.
Knoxville Homeowner Shot, Returns Fire Killing One - January 10, 2014
A 64-year-old Knoxville, Tenn. homeowner was shot Wednesday night during a confrontation with two men in their twenties, but the homeowner returned fire, fatally shooting one of the suspects.
During the confrontation, police say Mack fired at least one time, hitting one of the suspects. The suspect was dead on the scene.
One Of Two Armed Robbers Shot By Victim - January 9, 2014
Multiple police agencies are looking for two suspects wanted for an armed robbery Thursday night, and one of the suspects may be injured.
The two suspects fled the scene in a black Toyota 4-Runner SUV. Initial reports indicated one of the two suspects may have been shot in the arm by the victim in the robbery.
Great Grandmother Shoots & Kills Armed Intruder - January 6, 2014
Killing anyone, let alone a teenager, was the last thing Elzie Pipkins wanted to do when she bought a handgun at a local pawn shop days after a December burglary. But a few weeks later, on Sunday evening, Pipkins found herself using that weapon to defend herself and her family, ultimately taking the life of a 16-year-old holding her at gunpoint.
"I was defending myself, my grandbaby and my great-grandson. We're innocent people and he came up on us in the house with a loaded shotgun," she said.
The 63-year-old great-grandmother lives alone, but serves as the matriarch of a large family and often cares for the youngest members.
Armed Citizen Saves Mall Cop Held At Gunpoint - January 6, 2014
It all began when the unarmed loss prevention officer tried to detain the thieves. One of the suspects, a woman, drew a handgun from her backpack and pointed it at the officer.
Meanwhile a 61-year-old man was sitting in the parking lot waiting on his wife to finish her shopping in the mall. He saw what was happening and saw his wife exiting the store from the same entrance as the officer.
Fearing for the safety of his wife and the loss prevention officer, the male fired his handgun an unknown number of times toward the armed suspect.
Robber Shot To Death In St. Louis - January 4, 2014
A man slain in the College Hill neighborhood Monday night was apparently shot to death by a man he tried to rob, police say.
A man, 25, told police that he and a friend were walking on Blair Avenue when Davis and another man tried to rob him at gunpoint. They struggled, and the 25-year-old man pulled his own gun and shot Davis, he told police. Davis was shot in the legs, chest, face and arm.
Davie Florida Man Stops Three Home Invaders With AK-47 - January 4, 2014
Two home invasion suspects are on the run and a third was shot and killed by a Davie resident Thursday night, police said.
Three armed men entered the apartment and pistol-whipped the resident inside, police said. He then confronted the suspects.
"The resident of the apartment had possession of an AK-47 and after he received this beating he was able to get possession or control of that, and started shooting at these suspects as they were fleeing," Engle said.
Armed 90 Year Old Business Owner Scares Off Robber - January 2, 2014
When a young man entered a Dayton, Ohio, laundromat Monday evening and demanded money from the 90-year-old owner, he was met with surprise when the old man not only told him no, but shoved a gun in his face.
Hicks wasn't about to hand over his hard-earned cash though. Instead of reaching into the cash drawer, Hicks reached into his pocket and pulled out a pistol, which sent the would-be robber running.
Market Employee Shoots Would Be Robber In Bakersfield California - December 30, 2013
Bakersfield police officers were sent to the Mi Tierra Market located at 300 South Owens St. regarding a robbery.
Officials said the store clerk told them that he had shot one of the suspects.
Officers said they found evidence that was consistent with one of the suspects being shot, but the suspects had since fled from the store.
Officers said the clerk said three men entered the business and at least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The clerk said the men ordered the store employees to the ground at which time the victim retrieved a handgun and fired a single round at the suspects, officers said.
Off Duty Trooper Kills Intruder In Oklahoma City Home - December 27, 2013
Police said the trooper was in the garage with the garage door open at his home in the 200 block of NE 2 Street when the man pointed a gun at him and asked for his belongings.
The trooper led the man to the home's second floor where the trooper used his gun to shoot the man, police said.
Woman Shoots Stalker Ex-Boyfriend - December 19, 2013
The victim says she went to her basement to smoke, when she realized that her ex-boyfriend was in the basement. He smashed her phone when she tried to call 911, before chasing her around the basement.
The woman took a gun from her pocket and shot the 34-year-old in the leg. When he fled, he dropped his cell phone, which she used to call 911.
New Hampshire Gun Owner Stops Car Jacking - December 18, 2013
Paul Jensen was sitting in the driver's seat of his Ford Taurus in a hospital parking lot in Nashua when police say James Paul suddenly opened up the passenger door.
"As he started to get in, I didn't have time to think about it, I just reacted, by the time he got in my car, I had my weapon out and pointed at his head," said Jensen from his home in Nashua today.
