This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for West Virginia.

Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off:

HB2060 would increase penalties for using a firearm while committing a felony

HB2092 would increase penalties for using a firearm during a drug related offense

HB2100 would allow military personnel and their spouses to get carry licenses

HB2138 would preempt and nullify all local and federal laws that infringe on the right to bear arms

HB2209 would add knives to preemption of local laws

HB2212 would exempt all firearms, a firearm accessory or ammunition manufactured and retained in the state from federal laws

HB2311 would nullify all future federal and local firearm regulations that are consider against the true meaning of the second amendment

SB211 would prohibit county parks and recreation commissions from regulating firearms

SB227 would allow lawful concealed carry in state parks, stte wildlife areas, state forest recreational facilities and on marked trails within state park or state forest borders or on state rail trails;

New this week:

HB2369 would make all federal firearms laws regarding semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines unenforceable within the state

HB2430 would allow anyone that has a carry permit to carry on the grounds of the capitol complex

New this week:

HB2587 clarifies language concerning carrying of firearm to state they may be carried for self defense in state parks, state forests and state recreational areas

SB388 would add 'public or private parking areas' to places exempt from prohibited places when legally carrying a firearm

HB2679 would prohibit county park and recreation commissions from enacting any rules prohibiting firearms

SB407 would allow 18 year olds that have a permit from their state to carry in West Virginia

New this week:

HB2714 would allow those with carry permits to carry in a private primary or secondary education building, structure or facility.

HB2712 would allow anyone with a carry permit to carry on the grounds of the state capitol complex

HR11 is a resolution supporting the federal hearing protection act bill

New for West Virginia:

HB2922 would drop the fee for a license to carry to $25

SB587 would exempt honorably discharged vets from the fee for a license to carry
