15102974D WHEREAS, Stephen W. Bowman, an admired and respected citizen of Richmond, died on December 3, 2014; and WHEREAS, a native of North Carolina, Stephen Bowman was born on October 13, 1973, to Jim and Jeanne Bowman; and WHEREAS, in 1996, Stephen Bowman graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from North Carolina State University, and in 2000, he earned a law degree and a master's degree in public policy from the College of William and Mary; and WHEREAS, Stephen Bowman began his career with the Commonwealth in 2000 as an intern with the Virginia State Crime Commission; he was ultimately promoted and served as a senior staff attorney/methodologist; and WHEREAS, in 2006, Stephen Bowman joined the Joint Commission on Health Care, where he worked diligently in the same capacity until his passing; and WHEREAS, Stephen Bowman was a talented and compassionate man, who generously offered his time and leadership to many civic activities and organizations; and WHEREAS; Stephen Bowman was the loving husband of Jeanette R. Bowman and a devoted father to his children, Lilian, Noah, and Luke; he spread joy to everyone he met with his friendly nature and bright smile; and WHEREAS, Stephen Bowman will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an outstanding Virginian, Stephen W. Bowman; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Stephen W. Bowman as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory. |
