R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Danny Neill is retiring from the Euless |
|
Police Department on March 28, 2013, drawing to a close a notable |
|
career in law enforcement that has spanned more than three and a |
|
half decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, After joining the department as a patrol officer in |
|
1976, Mr. Neill earned his basic police officer license in 1977 and |
|
his intermediate, advanced, and instructor licenses in 1985; that |
|
same year, he was promoted to sergeant and became the supervisor of |
|
the Narcotics Unit; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Neill went on to serve in the Patrol |
|
Division and in Criminal Investigations, receiving his master |
|
police officer license in 1996; in 2001, he was promoted to |
|
lieutenant, and his subsequent duties include a stint in the |
|
Service Division and participation on a joint task force with the |
|
U.S. Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms |
|
and Explosives; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Lieutenant Neill has enjoyed |
|
the respect and admiration of his fellow officers; he was named |
|
Officer of the Year in 1980 and Supervisor of the Year on two |
|
occasions, in 1988 and 1990; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Neill's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to protecting the safety and welfare of the public have |
|
greatly benefited the citizens of Euless, and he may indeed reflect |
|
with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting |
|
chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Danny Neill on his |
|
retirement from the Euless Police Department and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Lieutenant Neill as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
