SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 336
	In Memory
	of
	Morris Chapman Taylor
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
	citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Morris Chapman Taylor,
	who died on February 17, 2015, at the age of 75; and
	WHEREAS, Morris Taylor was born on May 28, 1939, in Fulton,
	Kentucky; he attended high school in South Fulton, Tennessee, and
	earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of
	Tennessee, Knoxville and a master's degree in applied physics
	from the University of California, Los Angeles; and
	WHEREAS, He moved to Texas and completed his doctoral
	studies in nuclear physics at Rice University; he went on to earn
	his senior postdoctoral fellow appointment at M. D. Anderson
	Cancer Center, where he researched accelerator production of
	isotopes and both therapeutic and diagnostic radiation; and
	WHEREAS, A leading researcher in his field, Mr. Taylor
	published more than 25 articles in national magazines and
	professional publications, and he was awarded five patents
	related to his work in tomography and chemical reactions; and
	WHEREAS, He was a member of the Austin Jaycees in the
	mid-1970s, and he served as president and chief executive officer
	of several Austin-based companies, including Scientific
	Measurement Systems and Columbia Scientific Industries; he was
	an avid golfer and a member of Great Hills Country Club; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor was a loving husband to Glenda Ricker
	Taylor, and they were blessed with two children and three
	grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, He was known for his kind and gentle nature, and
	he was admired by his colleagues and friends; he leaves behind
	memories that will long be cherished by all who were privileged
	to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
	family of Morris Chapman Taylor; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
	memory of Morris Taylor.
