SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1063
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Edward Glenn Biggs
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Edward Glenn Biggs, who died May 26,
  2015, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Glenn Biggs was born on June 10, 1932, to Ben and
  Clara Stucke Biggs in a small ranching community near San Angelo;
  while attending Baylor University, he met the love of his life,
  Ann Carolyn Dendy; they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage
  together and were blessed with two children and four
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Glenn's professional career included service with
  the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Guadalupe Mountains National
  Park, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives Ben Barnes,
  First National Bank of San Antonio, the City Public Service board
  in San Antonio, and Texas Heritage Bank in Boerne and Leon
  Springs; and
         WHEREAS, He served on numerous corporate boards, including
  House of InterFirst Corporation, Valero Energy, and the Zachry
  Company; he served in an advisory capacity for such institutes as
  the Southwest Research Institute, The University of Texas at San
  Antonio, and The University of Texas Health Science Center; he
  also served on the board of Morningside Ministries; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in
  his daily life, Mr. Biggs was a loyal member of First Baptist
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be
  treasured forever by his family and countless friends; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Edward Glenn Biggs; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Glenn Biggs.
