R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, George Flint of Plano has been elected chair of the |
|
Collin County Republican Party, and as he continues this act of |
|
service, it is indeed fitting to recognize him for his many |
|
contributions to civic life; and |
|
WHEREAS, An attorney and small-business owner, Mr. Flint has |
|
long been active in the GOP, and he has served the Collin County |
|
Republican Party as general counsel since 2009; he has given |
|
generously of his financial resources to support the party and its |
|
candidates, and he has served in such capacities as co-chair of the |
|
Bylaws and Rules Committee for the Collin County Republican Party, |
|
co-chair of the Senate District 8 Resolutions Committee, and |
|
Delegate to the Texas State Republican Convention; in addition, he |
|
was a member of the state party's Convention Rules Committee in |
|
2012, and he was an Alternate Texas Delegate to the Republican |
|
National Convention; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Flint was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and |
|
graduated from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts |
|
Institute of Technology; in 1974, he completed his MBA at Wake |
|
Forest University and relocated to Texas, and he subsequently |
|
earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University; his |
|
practice with the Flint Firm encompasses business and contract law, |
|
mediation, and complex litigation, among other areas of expertise, |
|
and his professional affiliations include the Association of |
|
Attorney-Mediators, the American Health Lawyers Association, the |
|
Christian Legal Society, and the Collin County Bar Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Flint is a |
|
member of Christ Church Plano, and he has provided pro bono legal |
|
services to religious institutions and nonprofit organizations; he |
|
serves as director of Real Options for Women and as a volunteer |
|
arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, George Flint has set an outstanding example of civic |
|
leadership, and the members of the Collin County Republican Party |
|
are fortunate indeed to have the benefit of his knowledge and |
|
experience; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate George Flint on his election as |
|
chair of the Collin County Republican Party and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for a successful tenure in office; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Flint as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
