R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Paul F. Davis of Pflugerville retired from the Texas
  Society of Health-System Pharmacists in January 2014, drawing to a
  close nearly 45 years of service to the pharmacy profession in the
  Lone Star State and beyond; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Davis graduated from The University of Texas
  College of Pharmacy in 1970; throughout his career, he worked with
  pharmacy organizations in several capacities, starting in 1972,
  when he began serving as director of public affairs of the Texas
  Pharmacy Association; he was later tapped to lead the Kentucky
  Pharmacists Association as its executive director from 1978 until
  1986, and after returning to the TPA, he was promoted to that same
  position in 1990; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists
  named Mr. Davis as its executive director in 2003; over the next
  decade, the organization continued to grow under his direction and
  expanded its scope to include executive management services for
  related associations; through that initiative, he also became
  executive director of the New Mexico Society of Health-System
  Pharmacists, a post he held until his retirement; and
         WHEREAS, At every organization that he led, Mr. Davis
  promoted the development of new services and programs and worked to
  increase membership and revenue; this esteemed Texan has received
  several honors for his efforts, including the TPA Leadership Award,
  the TSHP Distinguished Service Award, and the UT College of
  Pharmacy William J. Sheffield Outstanding Alumnus Award;
  additionally, he has been active with the Texas Society of
  Association Executives, the American Pharmacists Association, and
  Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, among other industry-related
  organizations; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis enjoys the love and
  support of his wife of more than 45 years, Beth, and their three
  children and three grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Paul Davis's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his fellow Texans,
  and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent and on
  the high esteem that he earned from his peers; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Paul F. Davis on his retirement
  from the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
