R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Anya Callahan has ably served her fellow Texans as |
|
legislative director in the office of State Representative Chris |
|
Turner during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan's resourcefulness and initiative have |
|
earned the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to |
|
carrying out Representative Turner's legislative agenda have |
|
helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, |
|
Ms. Callahan earned her bachelor's degree in political science and |
|
gender studies; before joining Representative Turner's office, she |
|
worked on the gubernatorial campaign of former state senator Wendy |
|
Davis as a research associate and before that as a reporter for the |
|
Generation Progress website of the Center for American Progress and |
|
as editor-in-chief of Wetlands Magazine; in addition, she has |
|
worked as a community and campus organizer for NARAL Pro-Choice |
|
Washington and as a deputy voter registrar in both Tarrant and |
|
Harris Counties; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
duties as legislative director with skill and dedication, and she |
|
is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Anya Callahan for her service as |
|
legislative director in the office of State Representative Chris |
|
Turner and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Callahan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
