R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Willard Kenneth Jordan of Mason on April 28, 2015, at the
  age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Willard Jordan was born on the family ranch in Mason
  County on October 27, 1934, to Frank and Ella Jordan; from an early
  age he learned to appreciate the beauty of the land and the
  importance of cattle, and throughout his childhood he participated
  in local and major livestock shows, winning a number of impressive
  awards; in 1951, the Jordans were named Farm Family of the Year by
  Life magazine; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from Mason High School in 1952,
  Mr. Jordan went on to attend Tarleton State University before
  returning home to continue his family's ranching legacy; he married
  his high school sweetheart, Peggy Chew, in 1954, and they became the
  proud parents of four sons, Donald, Ronald, Ken, and Greg; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his activities on the ranch,
  Mr. Jordan completed a livestock auctioneer course and worked in a
  number of Hill Country, Central Texas, and West Texas livestock
  markets for 17 years; in 1971 he was the central region winner of
  the World Champion Auctioneer contest, and in 1973 he was the
  runner-up for the title of world champion; for more than four
  decades he enjoyed further renown in the industry, as the owner and
  operator first of Junction Stockyards and later of Jordan Cattle
  Auction in San Saba; and
         WHEREAS, Although Willard Jordan is deeply missed, memories
  of his enthusiasm, his work ethic, and his devotion to his loved
  ones remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Willard Kenneth
  Jordan and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family:
  to his wife, Peggy Jordan; to his sisters, Ethyl Bym and Lois Koock
  and her husband, Bill; to his sons, Donald Jordan and his wife,
  Cheri, Ronald Jordan and his wife, Karen, Ken Jordan and his wife,
  Kynda, and Greg Jordan; to his grandchildren, Jima Montfort and her
  husband, Clint, Julie Havelka and her husband, Kris, Brendon Jordan
  and his wife, Tina, Brandon Jordan and his fiancée, Hollie
  Driscoll, and Karoline, Kristin, and Katherine Jordan; to his
  great-grandchildren, Graycie and Cole Montfort, Sydney, Keaton,
  and Heston Havelka, and Jase Jordan; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Willard
  Kenneth Jordan.
