R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Jonathan Sosa of the Arlington Police |
|
Department has deservedly been presented with a Police Officer's |
|
Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and |
|
WHEREAS, While on routine patrol, Officer Sosa noticed smoke |
|
in the roadway and quickly ascertained that it was coming from a |
|
nearby duplex that had caught on fire; he immediately notified the |
|
residents of the adjoining unit, helping four adults and two |
|
children to escape the blaze unharmed; he then kicked in the door of |
|
the burning residence, but he was unable to enter due to the |
|
intensity of the flames; and |
|
WHEREAS, Officer Sosa subsequently contacted the occupants |
|
of neighboring homes, making them aware of the fire and helping them |
|
to evacuate as well; no citizens were injured as a result of the |
|
fire, thanks in large measure to the tenacity and quick thinking of |
|
this dedicated public servant; and |
|
WHEREAS, Every day, the peace officers of Texas come to the |
|
aid of individuals in dangerous situations, and in providing vital |
|
aid in an emergency, Officer Jonathan Sosa has exemplified the |
|
highest ideals of his profession; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Officer Jonathan Sosa on his receipt of |
|
the Police Officer's Award from the Arlington Police Department and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his |
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Officer Sosa as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
