R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso County benefit each day from |
|
the contributions of those public servants who greatly improve the |
|
quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of |
|
their duties; and |
|
WHEREAS, Edward Dion was appointed to the position of El Paso |
|
County auditor in 1997, and over the course of his exemplary tenure, |
|
he has distinguished himself as the county's chief financial |
|
officer, investment officer, treasurer, and paymaster; Mr. Dion |
|
has worked in county government for more than three decades, and in |
|
fulfilling his duties, he has earned the respect and admiration of |
|
his colleagues and the public; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso and |
|
a licensed CPA, Mr. Dion has served in a number of important |
|
capacities for the Texas Association of County Auditors and the |
|
Texas Association of Counties; moreover, he is a member of the |
|
Government Finance Officers Association and a government |
|
representative for the Accounting Department Advisory Committee at |
|
UTEP; and |
|
WHEREAS, Edward Dion has demonstrated a steadfast commitment |
|
to making El Paso County an even better place in which to live and |
|
work, and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and |
|
appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor El Paso County Auditor Edward Dion for his |
|
efforts in behalf of his community and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Dion as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
