          printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the division
          of  criminal  justice  services  and  the  division of state police to
          publish quarterly reports providing information  related  to  firearms
          used in the commission of crimes in the state of New York
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section  837-t
     2  to read as follows:
     3    §  837-t. Reporting on firearms used in the commission of a crime.  1.
     4  The division, in conjunction with the division of  state  police,  shall
     5  publish quarterly reports on their respective websites beginning October
     6  first,  two thousand nineteen, with information related to firearms used
     7  in the commission of crimes in the state of New York, including but  not
     8  limited  to,  the  county and state of origin of the firearm, the county
     9  and state where the firearm  was  purchased,  whether  the  firearm  was
    10  purchased  by the perpetrator of the crime or by another individual, and
    11  whether the perpetrator had a license to possess such firearm.
    12    2.  Each  political  subdivision,  municipality,  commission,  agency,
    13  office,  department,  board and division in the state, to the extent not
    14  inconsistent with other provisions of law, shall  cooperate  fully  with
    15  the division and shall furnish the division with information and assist-
    16  ance  as  may  be required in the performance of its function under this
    17  section.
    18    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
