  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  724.32  Firearms in county
  1  2 courthouses.
  1  3    Any person possessing a valid professional or
  1  4 nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this state
  1  5 shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport a
  1  6 firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a
  1  7 county courthouse in the same manner as personnel providing
  1  8 law enforcement services to the district court under section
  1  9 602.1303, subsection 3, if going armed with, carrying, or
  1 10 transporting such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws
  1 11 of this state.
  1 12                           EXPLANATION
  1 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 14 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 15    This bill relates to going armed with, carrying, or
  1 16 transporting a firearm in a county courthouse.
  1 17    Under the bill, any person possessing a valid professional
  1 18 or nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this
  1 19 state shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport
  1 20 a firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a
  1 21 county courthouse in the same manner as personnel providing law
  1 22 enforcement services to the district court under Code section
  1 23 602.1303(3), if going armed with, carrying, or transporting
  1 24 such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws of this
  1 25 state.
