SENATE RESOLUTION

MADAM PRESIDENT:

I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the efforts of the Richmond Hills Investigation Team.

Whereas, On November 10, 2012, an explosion rocked the south side of Indianapolis, leveling two homes and setting two other homes on fire;

Whereas, The effects of the explosion were felt throughout the Richmond Hills neighborhood;

Whereas, In the end, 33 homes were destroyed, 90 homes were significantly damaged, seven people were injured, and 200 people were forced from their homes;

Whereas, The explosion also claimed the lives of Jennifer and John Longworth;

Whereas, In the weeks following the tragedy, the Richmond Hills Investigation Team spent countless hours investigating the scene and gathering evidence from the site: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes the efforts of the Richmond Hills Investigation Team.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Department of Public Safety; the Department of Homeland Security; Arson Investigators; Bomb Investigators; Homicide Investigators; Electronic Surveillance Intelligence; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Crime Lab Specialists; Pathologists; FBI Tech Agents; Secret Service; and the Indiana State Police.
