430 ILCS 68/5-70

Amends the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act. Provides that the fee amount for a certified licensee shall be based upon the number of firearms sold per year. Provides that if the certified licensee sells less than 150,000 firearms per year, the fee is $200. Provides that if the certified licensee sells 150,000 to 500,000 firearms per year, the fee is $500. Provides that if the certified licensee sells over 500,000 firearms per year, the fee is $1,000.

1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Firearm Dealer License Certification Act is
5amended by changing Section 5-70 as follows:
6 (430 ILCS 68/5-70)
7 Sec. 5-70. Fees and fines deposited in the State Police
8Firearm Services Fund. The Illinois State Police shall set
9and collect a fee for each licensee certifying under this Act.
10The fee amount for a certified licensee shall be based upon the
11number of firearms sold per year. If the certified licensee
12sells less than 150,000 firearms per year, the fee is $200. If
13the certified licensee sells 150,000 to 500,000 firearms per
14year, the fee is $500. If the certified licensee sells over
15500,000 firearms per year, the fee is $1,000. The fee may not
16exceed $300 for a certified licensee operating without a
17retail location. The fee may not exceed $1,500 for any
18certified licensee operating with a retail location. The
19Illinois State Police may not charge a certified licensee in
20this State, operating under the same or different business
21name, fees exceeding $40,000 for the certification of multiple
22licenses. All fees and fines collected under this Act shall be
23deposited in the State Police Firearm Services Fund. Moneys in

1the Fund shall be used for implementation and administration
2of this Act.
