SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Ray Mathey, Jr. of Woodstock, who
4passed away on June 24, 2015; and
5 WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was born on July 23, 1929 to
6Charles, Sr. and Helen Mathey; he graduated from Medford High
7School in 1947 and married Norine M. Doolittle on June 6, 1953;
8during the Korean War, he served as a wheel mechanic at the
9Army's 121 EVAC Hospital in Seoul, Korea; and
10 WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. worked for Union Special in
11Huntley for 42 years as a tool room machinist; and
12 WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was a life-time member of the
13Woodstock Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5040, serving in many
14capacities; he served on the honor guard for many events and
15was honored to be a parade marshal; and
16 WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. was preceded in death by his
17wife, Norine; his parents; his 3 sisters, Delores Linzner,
18Bertha Garland, and Alice Levenhagen; his 2 brothers, Alex
19Mathey and Eugene Mathey; his brothers-in-law, Glenn Anderson,
20Charles Thomas, and Nicholas Levenhagen; and

1 WHEREAS, Charles Mathey, Jr. is survived by his 4 children,
2Helen (Donald) Mathey-Horn, Tom O. (Dawn) Mathey, James I.
3(Sandy) Mathey, and Alan R. (Carol) Mathey; his 2 sisters, Ruth
4Thomas and Fern Crenshaw; his sister-in-law, Norma (the late
5Glenn) Anderson; his 8 grandchildren; his 11 (and two expected)
6great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
7be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charles Ray Mathey, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charles Mathey, Jr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
