2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. | ||||||
4 | "Bob" Bohler, who passed away on April 26, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was born on December 17, 1950; in | ||||||
6 | addition to working as a salesman for Aurora Tri-State Fire and | ||||||
7 | Security Alarms for over 20 years, he was a devoted Sugar Grove | ||||||
8 | village trustee and was very active in and for the community; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was elected in 1997 to serve the | ||||||
11 | Village of Sugar Grove as a Trustee; as Trustee, he earned the | ||||||
12 | admiration of Sugar Grove residents, his fellow Board members, | ||||||
13 | and the Village staff; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was dedicated to the best interest | ||||||
15 | of the community; long before he served the community in his | ||||||
16 | capacity as Trustee, he tirelessly volunteered on many | ||||||
17 | committees; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Because of his love for his family, his community, | ||||||
19 | and sports, Robert Bohler spent countless days coaching and | ||||||
20 | teaching our youth; he coached almost every sport, from | ||||||
21 | tee-ball to soccer; and

1 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler served for many years as the Village | ||||||
2 | Liaison to the Economic Development Committee and the Sugar | ||||||
3 | Grove Economic Development Corporation to successfully spur | ||||||
4 | economic development; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler served as president of the Sugar | ||||||
6 | Grove Lions Club; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was proud of the patents he held as | ||||||
8 | a lighting designer; he was also committed to the annual Sugar | ||||||
9 | Grove Corn Boil, particularly the fireworks and the music he | ||||||
10 | choreographed for the event; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler had a firm belief in the | ||||||
12 | responsibility of the Board to ensure the safety of its | ||||||
13 | residents and worked hard to require proper building safety | ||||||
14 | guidelines; he also worked to ensure that the Village developed | ||||||
15 | an Emergency Management Plan; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler leaves behind a significant legacy | ||||||
17 | that has impacted the lives of more than one Sugar Grove | ||||||
18 | resident through his commitment and devotion to the well-being | ||||||
19 | of his community; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was the beloved husband of 34 years |

1 | of his loving wife, Sandy; the loving father of Corey (Julie), | ||||||
2 | Brooke (William) Damm, and Adam Bohler; the dear grandfather of | ||||||
3 | Madison and Olivia; the fond brother of Nancy (the late | ||||||
4 | Richard) McCall, Elizabeth (Juul) Thompson, Bonne Wolf, Mary | ||||||
5 | (Ed) Veras, Brian Bohler, and Anne (Ron) Mills; the | ||||||
6 | brother-in-law of Steve Hill and Patti Williams; and the uncle | ||||||
7 | of many; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was an outstanding community | ||||||
9 | leader, friend, grandfather and father, and husband that will | ||||||
10 | be missed greatly by everyone he knew; therefore, be it
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
12 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
13 | mourn the loss of Robert Bohler and extend our sincere | ||||||
14 | condolences to his family, friends, and all those who knew and | ||||||
15 | loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
17 | presented to the family of Robert Bohler as an expression of | ||||||
18 | our deepest sympathy and most sincere appreciation for his | ||||||
19 | service to the residents of the Village of Sugar Grove.
