HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E.
4"Bob" Bohler, who passed away on April 26, 2015; and
5 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was born on December 17, 1950; in
6addition to working as a salesman for Aurora Tri-State Fire and
7Security Alarms for over 20 years, he was a devoted Sugar Grove
8village trustee and was very active in and for the community;
9and
10 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was elected in 1997 to serve the
11Village of Sugar Grove as a Trustee; as Trustee, he earned the
12admiration of Sugar Grove residents, his fellow Board members,
13and the Village staff; and
14 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was dedicated to the best interest
15of the community; long before he served the community in his
16capacity as Trustee, he tirelessly volunteered on many
17committees; and
18 WHEREAS, Because of his love for his family, his community,
19and sports, Robert Bohler spent countless days coaching and
20teaching our youth; he coached almost every sport, from
21tee-ball to soccer; and

1 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler served for many years as the Village
2Liaison to the Economic Development Committee and the Sugar
3Grove Economic Development Corporation to successfully spur
4economic development; and
5 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler served as president of the Sugar
6Grove Lions Club; and
7 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was proud of the patents he held as
8a lighting designer; he was also committed to the annual Sugar
9Grove Corn Boil, particularly the fireworks and the music he
10choreographed for the event; and
11 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler had a firm belief in the
12responsibility of the Board to ensure the safety of its
13residents and worked hard to require proper building safety
14guidelines; he also worked to ensure that the Village developed
15an Emergency Management Plan; and
16 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler leaves behind a significant legacy
17that has impacted the lives of more than one Sugar Grove
18resident through his commitment and devotion to the well-being
19of his community; and
20 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was the beloved husband of 34 years

1of his loving wife, Sandy; the loving father of Corey (Julie),
2Brooke (William) Damm, and Adam Bohler; the dear grandfather of
3Madison and Olivia; the fond brother of Nancy (the late
4Richard) McCall, Elizabeth (Juul) Thompson, Bonne Wolf, Mary
5(Ed) Veras, Brian Bohler, and Anne (Ron) Mills; the
6brother-in-law of Steve Hill and Patti Williams; and the uncle
7of many; and
8 WHEREAS, Robert Bohler was an outstanding community
9leader, friend, grandfather and father, and husband that will
10be missed greatly by everyone he knew; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13mourn the loss of Robert Bohler and extend our sincere
14condolences to his family, friends, and all those who knew and
15loved him; and be it further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Robert Bohler as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy and most sincere appreciation for his
19service to the residents of the Village of Sugar Grove.
