1		AN ACT concerning education.
2		Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3		represented in the General Assembly:
4		Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5		27-23.15 as follows:
6		(105 ILCS 5/27-23.15 new)
7		Sec. 27-23.15. Gun safety. A school district may offer its
8		students a course on gun safety as part of its curriculum
9		during the school day or as part of an after-school program.
10		The State Board of Education may prepare and make available to
11		school boards resources on gun safety that may be used as
12		guidelines for the development of a course under this Section.
13		Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14		becoming law.
