SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
430 ILCS 66/45

Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Adds certified firearms instructors to the civil immunity provision that removes liability for damages in a civil action from alleged wrongful or improper granting, denying, renewing, removing, suspending, or failing to grant, deny, renew, remove, or suspend a concealed carry license, except for willful or wanton misconduct. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning safety.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act is amended by
5changing Section 45 as follows:
6 (430 ILCS 66/45)
7 Sec. 45. Civil immunity; Board, employees, and agents. The
8Board, Department, local law enforcement agency, certified
9firearms instructors, or the employees and agents of the Board,
10Department, or local law enforcement agency participating in
11the licensing process under this Act shall not be held liable
12for damages in any civil action arising from alleged wrongful
13or improper granting, denying, renewing, revoking, suspending,
14or failing to grant, deny, renew, revoke, or suspend a license
15under this Act, except for willful or wanton misconduct.

17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
