       Senator Simmons moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (734058) 
    2  
    3         Delete line 3385
    4  and insert:
    5  other methods of improving student achievement. Each school
    6  district that has one or more of the 300 lowest-performing
    7  elementary schools based on a 3-year average of the state
    8  reading assessment data must use the school’s portion of the
    9  allocation to provide an additional hour per day of intensive
   10  reading for the students in each school. The additional hour may
   11  be provided within the school day. Students enrolled in these
   12  schools who earned a level 4 or level 5 score on the statewide,
   13  standardized English Language Arts assessment for the previous
   14  school year may participate in the extra hour of instruction.
