An act to amend Section 1940 of the Education Code, relating to
education.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 699, as introduced, Donnelly. County superintendents of
schools: county school service fund.
Existing law authorizes a county superintendent of schools, with
approval of the county board of education, to expend county school
service funds for the purpose of administering and accounting for the
county school service fund or to contract with and pay the county
board of supervisors for services rendered in administering and
accounting for the county school service fund.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1940 of the Education Code is amended to read:
1940. The county superintendent of schools may, with the approval
of the county board of education, expend county school service funds
for the purpose of administering and accounting for the county
school service fund, or he or she may, with the approval
of the county board of education, contract with and pay the
county board of supervisors for services rendered in
administering and accounting for the county school service fund.
