An act to amend Section 830 of the Penal Code, relating to criminal procedure.

AB 1263, as introduced, Gipson. Peace officers.
Existing law provides that any person who comes within the provisions of specified statutes and who otherwise meets all standards imposed by law on a peace officer is a peace officer.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 830 of the Penal Code is amended to read:

830.
 Any A person who comes within the provisions of this chapter and who otherwise meets all standards imposed by law on a peace officer is a peace officer, and notwithstanding any other provision of law, no a person other than those designated in this chapter is not a peace officer. The restriction of peace officer functions of any a public officer or employee shall not affect his or her their status for purposes of retirement.
