February 16, 2018

An act to amend Section 485 of the Penal Code, relating to criminal law.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 3129, as introduced, Rubio. Crimes.
Existing law provides that a person who finds lost property under circumstances that give the person knowledge of or means of inquiry as to the true owner, and who appropriates the property to his or her own use, or to the use of another person not entitled to the property, without first making reasonable and just efforts to find the owner and to restore the property to the owner, is guilty of theft.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
