Help Needed To Fight Pittsburgh City Council's Illegal Firearm Laws

We need your help!

Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto, along with city council, and with the blessing of Governor Wolf, are using the tragedy of the Tree Of Life Synagogue to enact 3 illegal firearm ordinances. Of course they know it is illegal for any municipality to enact their own firearm laws but they are emboldened by support from Governor Wolf and the Bloomberg Anti-Gun groups CeaseFire PA and Mom's Demand Action.

The ordinances include an 'assault weapon' ban, a bump stock and trigger device ban and adoption of extreme risk protection orders. You can see the city's press release here.

Every freedom loving citizen of Pennsylvania should be extremely concerned about this attack on the state's preemption laws and their rights under the law. If these illegal laws are not stopped in their tracks other cities will adopt similar laws creating a nightmare of 'patchwork' laws for law abiding citizens. Allentown city council, and mayor, have already said they would like to enact similar laws as has Philadelphia. What Pittsburgh is doing her is a direct assault on the state's 1974 preemption law. This is the beginning of what many legislators want, turning Pennsylvania into New Jersey.

We have started a new 'lawsuit fund' to help offset the huge legal costs that will be required to beat Pittsburgh and once and for all let these politicians know they MUST abide by state laws. All proceeds to this fund will be given directly to attorney Joshua Prince as we join Firearms Owners Against Crime in fighting this battle. We understand this is a bad time to ask for donations with the holidays upon us but this fight is crucial to win.

Let us be clear here, this is the first shot of a direct assault on YOUR rights and it MUST be stopped!

Donations can be made on our site (make sure to check the 'lawsuit fund' button) or at FOAC's site or directly to attorney Prince. When donating directly to FOAC or attorney Prince please enter 'AMGOA Pittsburgh Firearm Preemption Litigation' in the reason for donation area.

And remember every penny will go to the fight against these illegal and unlawful actions by Pittsburgh.

Attorney Prince is also looking for potential plaintiffs for this challenge

If you meet any of the following criteria and are willing to become a plaintiff please contact attorney Prince at Joshua@CivilRightsDefenseFirm.com

The list of plaintiff criteria is as follows:

1) Intends to manufacture in Pittsburgh an assault weapon after enactment of the Proposals.

This would include someone who has purchased an 80% lower (AR and/or Glock) and intends to build it into

A) A rifle with two of the following: 1. a folding or telescoping stock; 2. A pistol grip; 3. A threaded barrel to accommodate a flash suppressor.

B) A pistol with two of the following: 1. A magazine that attaches outside of the pistol grip; 2. A threaded barrel; 3. A barrel shroud; 4. A manufacturers weight of 50 ounces or more when unloaded; 5. A semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm.

2) Intends to sell in Pittsburgh an assault weapon after enactment of the Proposals.

3) Intends to purchase in Pittsburgh an assault weapon after enactment of the Proposals.

4) Intends to transport in Pittsburgh an assault weapon after enactment of the Proposals, which was not possessed in Pittsburgh before the Proposals. (This would generally be someone, who fits the criteria of #1 - i.e. intends to manufacture a new assault weapon after enactment of the Proposals).

5) Intends to discharge a firearm at a range in Pittsburgh without "appropriate supervision." (who even knows what this means?)

6) Intends to hunt with an air gun on State Game Land in Pittsburgh.

7) Intends to hunt with a bow on State Game Lands in Pittsburgh.

8) Intends to purchase ammunition in Pittsburgh and does not have a current photo Id. It would be perfect if we could find an Amish person, or someone else, with a closely held religious belief against having his/her photo taken, as a plaintiff.

9) Is under 18 years old, lives in Pittsburgh, and needs ammunition to hunt, as, per 607.08(A)(2), even one's own father could not, after enactment, provide the youth with ammunition.

10) Intends to manufacture, purchase, sell or transport in Pittsburgh a 50 BMG round after enactment of the Proposals.

11) Intends to manufacture, purchase, sell, carry, store or transport in Pittsburgh a large capacity magazine after enactment of the Proposals. As this proposal does not contain a grandfather provision, unlike the assault weapon ban, all of these would become immediately unlawful, regardless of when purchased.

12) Intends to manufacture, purchase, sell, carry, store or transport in Pittsburgh a:

A) Binary trigger

B) Bump stock

C) Multi-burst trigger

D) Rapid-fire device

E) A silencer

F) A Trigger crank
