Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off:

H33 would restore firearm right to person convicted of a non-violent felony prior to December 1, 1995 that meet certain criteria

H69 is a constitutional carry bill

New this week H174 would allow carrying firearms in buildings that are both a school and a place of worship

New for North Carolina:


S204 would allow concealed carry on UNC & CC Campuses

H345 would open up places controlled by schools that are not actual classrooms for carrying firearms, it would also allow legislators that have carry permits to carry in the capitol

H452 would exempt up to $5000 in firearms from civil debt collections

H438 would more clearly define the definition of mental disorder (regarding firearm permits)) and would set deadlines for sheriff departments to process them

S385 would drop the period of time after a non-violent felon serves their time to 10 years before they can petition to get their firearm rights restored

S465 would allow elected officials to carry in courthouses if they have a permit

S504 would broaden the scope of prohibited places under the education area

S513 would add the same prohibitions for firearms for civil no contact orders that are included in protection from abuse orders

H588 would make changes to the release of mental health records for the purposes of obtaining a license to carry and would allow carrying of firearms by those with permits in churches and educational facilities

H612 would create an elective course in all high schools for firearm education

H723 is an anti-gun nightmare of a bill that includes everything from lost and stolen, high capacity magazine bans, serial numbers for high capacity magazines, gun violence restraining orders and much more

H746 is a constitutional carry bill

H1070 would create extreme risk protection orders

H1039 would allow school employees that have a carry permit and have gone through training to carry on school property

H1060 would adopt the California Safe Handguns list (and law) that would prohibit any handgun found to be unsafe from being sold in the state
