This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for Alaska.

Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off:

SB69 would require anyone carrying a weapon in a vehicle that is pulled over to inform the officer immediately and allow the officer to secure the firearm during the stop

HB75 would create 'gun violence protective orders' very similar to the California law

The only real difference as I see it is the addition of "Weapon other than an ordinary pocket knife" I read that as my EDC a Buck 110 is more than an ordinary pocket knife.

Which I already act in this manner we have ALWAYS  had to declare the carrying of a firearm for traffic stops etc.

While it MAY be allowing more information going out than is necessary for a government to have, it is also a safe way to operate with law enforcement that have been under attack physically.

HB370 would eliminate the must inform clause when a person is stopped by police, it would also allow school employees to carry firearms
